Each year a few weeks before the Thanksgiving Holiday always comes Veterans day it is a holiday that take place every November. As United States Citizens we need to give our respect to the service men and woman who have served our country. The problem is that sometimes it is not celebrated our just misunderstood.
History of Veterans Day:
The difference between Veteran's Day and Memorial Day gets confused. Veteran's Day is a holiday that is meant to remember the people that have been in the service for our country. Memorial Day is the holiday that we need to honor and remember the people who gave their lives in the military. So, on Veteran's Day we need to thank all people who served in the military and put their lives on the line to defend the country that we live in and our freedom.
Veteran's Day coincides with other holidays, including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I; major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. The United States previously observed Armistice Day. The U.S. holiday was renamed Veteran's Day in 1954.
